We have found the best Gluten Free Pita’s, untraditionally shaped but delicious just the same from “Promise” Bakery located in Ireland. Their products are showing up in Canadian stores, sometimes fresh and sometimes in the freezer section.
Make Herb Labneh earlier in the day along with Slow Roasted Tomatoes and Pickled Red Onions; then dinner is simply grilling a steak and warming the pita.
Steak Pita’s with Herb Labneh
Does everyone know how to cook a steak? Sear it in a little butter on the stove, grill with a little olive oil, and the spices you prefer. Let it rest before cutting into it.
Ingredients
- 1 Promise Pita 17 CHO
- 1 TBSP olive oil 0 CHO
- ¼ cup (60 gr) Herb Labneh 2.4 CHO
- 4 oz. (114 gr) steak, sliced 0 CHO
- 7 -9 (100 gr) Slow Roasted Tomatoes 3 CHO
- 2 TBSP (14 gr) Pickled Red Onions 1.8 CHO
TOTAL CHO 24.2 CHO/SERVING
Instructions
- Pre heat grill to 400.
- Grill or sear steak and let rest.
- While steak is resting, reduce heat to 300 and place pita on the grill.
- Warm the pita and brush with olive oil.
- Cut pita into 2 or 3 pieces and add Herb Labneh, steak slices, tomatoes and onions.
- Serve immediately.
