A classic Italian cocktail, you either love Negroni’s or not. Count Negroni gets the credit for asking his bartender to add gin instead of club soda to his usual “Americano.”
Negroni
It’s taken Mike several attempts, but he has finally mastered the Negroni to suit himself. He adds a teaspoon of orange juice; something not usually added to a true Negroni.
Ingredients
- 1 oz (2 TBSP) Sweet Vermouth 4 CHO
- 1 oz (2 TBSP) Gin 0 CHO
- 1 oz (2 TBSP) Campari 8 CHO
- 1 tsp orange juice .6 CHO
- Orange rind 0 CHO
- TOTAL CHO 12.6 CHO/DRINK
Instructions
- In its truest form, the Negroni ingredients are poured into a cocktail shaker 2/3 filled with ice; stirred and then strained into a chilled cocktail glass filled with ice.
- Mike skips the cocktail shaker and simply pours all ingredients over ice in a cocktail glass. Stirs and enjoys!
