This very easy Lemon Yogurt Sauce is lightly flavoured with lemon and a perfect base for Harissa Meatballs. The yogurt cools the little bit of heat from the meatballs.
Lemon Yogurt Sauce
This sauce is much more delicate than Tzatziki and takes a fraction of the time.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (234 gr) plain yogurt (6 CHO/3/4 cup/175 gr) 8 CHO
- 1 TBSP fresh lemon juice 0 CHO
- ¼ tsp. garlic minced 0 CHO
- ¼ tsp. salt 0 CHO
TOTAL CHO 8 CHO
- TOTAL WEIGHT 245 GRAMS
- 8 CHO DIVIDED BY 245 GRAMS = .032 CHO/GRAM
- 1 TBSP = 15 GRAMS (.032 CHO x 15 GRAMS) .48 CHO/TBSP
- ¼ CUP =4 TBSP (.48 CHO x 4) 1.92 CHO/1/4 CUP
- ¼ CUP = 60 GRAMS
Instructions
- Simple, simple, simple! Make earlier in the day and refrigerate or make it just before serving.
- Mix all sauce ingredients and serve whenever you want.
- If you are making Gremolata, sprinkle a bit on the sauce if desired.
