Horseradish Cream Cheese
This is a nice change from horseradish cream made with sour cream. It holds together a little thicker. We love it on crostini topped with a rare slice of beef tenderloin as part of the appetizer tray. Garnish with fresh sprouts. It's also great with a slice of cucumber, topped with lox and capers, for a low carb treat.
Ingredients
- 2 TBSP (30 gr) cream cheese (1 CHO/TBSP/15 gr) 2 CHO
- 2 tsp. (5 ml/5 gr) Woodman’s Original Creamed Horseradish (1 CHO/tsp.) 2 CHO
TOTAL CHO 4 CHO
- TOTAL WEIGHT 30 GRAMS
- 4 CHO DIVIDED BY 30 GRAMS = .1333 CHO/GRAM
- 1 TBSP = 15 GRAMS .133 CHO x 15 GRAMS 1.999 CHO/TBSP
- I THINK WE CAN CALL IT 2 CHO/TBSP!!!
Instructions
Mix cream cheese and horseradish until blended. Chill covered in the refrigerator until ready to use. Double recipe as desired.
Whether you make the tenderloin the day before or close to serving, this is delicious. Thinly slice the beef, and top with garnish of your choice.
* The crostini will add extra carbs.
