Aperol Spritz

Aperol Spritz

Friend Joanne has been sending pics from Italy daily and an Aperol Spritz is showing up regularly. Delicious, a bit bitter and thirst quenching, this Italian aperitif doesn’t disappoint.

Aperol Spritz

Using a nice dry Prosecco, mixed with the Aperol just ups the experience. Think of hot summer days in Italy. We prefer adding a drop of Angostura Orange Bitters to the spritz.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz (4 TBSP) Aperol 20 CHO
  • 2 oz (4 TBSP) Dry Prosecco .25 CHO
  • 1 drop Angostura Orange Bitters 0 CHO
  • 1 slice orange 0 CHO

TOTAL CHO PER DRINK 20.25 CHO

    Instructions

    1. Ice in drinks is a very personal thing. Use as much or as little as you prefer. More ice will dilute the drink. I prefer 2-3 cubes; Mike likes double that.
    2. Add ice to a white wine glass. Then add Aperol, Prosecco, Angostura Orange Bitters and orange slice.
    3. Give the glass a swirl and dream of Italy.

Even though Risotto takes a bit of time to prepare, it is very simple to make. This classic Italian dish is buttery and creamy rich. We added high quality scallops and some sautéed oregano for an elegant entree.
