This easy French dessert is even better the next day!
Chocolate Mousse
This mousse is creamy, thick and tastes of rich chocolate. Garnish with cream, berries or both.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. (454 gr) Hersey Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips (9 CHO/TBSP/15 gr) 272.4 CHO
- 3 cups (750 ml) Whipping Cream, divided 0 CHO
- ½ tsp. salt 0 CHO
- 1 TBSP Vanilla 0 CHO
TOTAL CHO 272.4 CHO
- TOTAL WEIGHT 1063 GRAMS
- 272.4 CHO DIVIDED BY 1063 GRAMS = .256 CHO/GRAM
- 1/3 CUP = 63 GRAMS (.256 CHO x 63 GR) 16.12/1/3 CUP
- ½ CUP = 95 GRAMS (.256 CHO x 95 GR) 24.32 CHO/1/2 CUP
Instructions
- Place semi sweet chocolate chips in a medium bowl and set aside.
- Heat 1 cup cream and salt in a small saucepan to almost the point of boiling, hot but not boiling.
- Pour hot cream over chips and let rest for 2 minutes. Then whisk until incorporated and smooth. Let cool completely.
- Next in a large bowl whip remaining 2 cups of cream until it forms stiff peaks.
- Add about 1/3 of the chocolate mixture and gently fold in until incorporated. Repeat 2 more times with remaining chocolate.
- Place in desired serving cups and refrigerate at least 4 – 6 hours or preferably overnight.
