Pears

Pears

Pear season is in full swing and there are so many ways to enjoy them; whether as a snack on their own, in a salad, part of the cheese board or dessert.

Pears

Pears are one of the world's oldest cultivated fruit.  However, there is evidence pears have been a source of food since prehistoric times, originating in present day Western China; spanning Western Europe to North Africa and Asia.  Greek Poet, Homer described the pear as a gift of the gods in "The Odyssey" and they truly are.

They were my absolute favourite fruit as a child.
