Fresh Peas
Are so delicious. Nothing else needs to be said!
Growing up we had an 8 hour drive to see relatives in Saskatchewan. Sometimes during pea season, we would stop at the garden our Grandparents kept "across the river" and raid the pea patch before going to their house! Now, we put the girls to work shelling peas as a family, but we buy them, not grow them.
Ingredients
- 1 cup 129 gr shelled fresh peas 12 CHO
- 1 TBSP butter 0 CHO
TOTAL CHO 12 CHO
- TOTAL WEIGHT 129 GRAMS
- 12 CHO DIVIDED BY 129 GRAMS = .093 CHO/GRAM
- 1 TBSP = 10 GRAMS .093 CHO x 8 GRAMS .744 CHO/TBSP
- ¼ CUP = 4 TBSP .744 CHO x 4 2.97 CHO/1/4 CUP (3 CHO)
Instructions
- Peas lose very little weight even when cooked. Simmer for 15 – 20 minutes if cooking.
