Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Many special occasions are marked with chocolate dipped strawberries. Decadent whether with milk chocolate or dark, perfect with brunch or dinner. Just pour a dry Sparkling Wine or Prosecco!

Buy the best chocolate and strawberries you can find or eat. In our family it’s Aero Bars – Gluten and Peanut Free. We agree with the girls, cover the entire strawberry with chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz (85 gr) Aero Bar sweet milk chocolate (25 CHO/42 GR) 50 CHO
  • 2 tsp. grape-seed avocado or canola oil 0 CHO

TOTAL CHO CHOCOLATE 50 CHO

  • 50 CHO DIVIDED BY 12 STRAWBERRIES = 4.16 CHO
  • +12 (about 17 – 20 gr each) medium sized strawberries 1 CHO EACH

TOTAL CHO PER STRAWBERRRY 5.16 CHO EACH

    Instructions

    1. Wash and dry strawberries. Make sure the strawberries are bone dry before dipping in the melted chocolate.
    2. Line cooking sheet with parchment.
    3. Place abut 1-inch water in bottom pan of a double boiler and bring to a gentle simmer.
    4. Melt chocolate and oil in a small double boiler. Whisking until smooth and remove chocolate from heat.
    5. Tilt pan and dip each strawberry in the pan, shake off any excess chocolate and place on parchment.  Let strawberries stand at room temperature for 15 minutes and then refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour and maximum of 6 hours before serving.

    6. Leftover strawberries will keep covered in the refrigerator overnight.
