Turkey Burgers Stuffed with Cheese

Adapted from Real - Life Entertaining, Donata Maggipinto

Perfect on a hot day with a chilled dry sparkling wine.

Use whatever type of cheese you prefer and count those carbs along with whatever you top it with. We love Roasted Peppers, thinly sliced red onions and Dijon mustard. The burger itself is 0 CHO.

For a heartier salad, try our Summer Salad with avocado instead of the fruit.

3 oz (90 grams) Cheese ? CHO

Instructions

  1. Cut cheese into thirds; 1ounce (30 gr) disks and set aside.
  2. Mix turkey, thyme, egg, salt and pepper. Form into 6 thin patties. Place cheese on a patty and top with another patty and press to seal the edges.
  3. Can be refrigerated for up to an hour before cooking. Because these are pretty fragile before they start to cook, I use a grill sheet on the barbeque or they can be cooked in the oven at 400 for about 20 minutes. Flip once, test to make sure cooked through and enjoy!
